ASI Scottish Open Qualifier - Conditions of Entry | The PGA

(i)        The Championship will be a 36 hole stroke play event with 18 holes to be played each day.  

(ii)       The Championship will have a maximum field of 144 competitors.

(iii)      Only those players who satisfy at least one of the criteria outlined in the " Eligibility for Entry" section will be eligible to play in the Championship

(iv)     In the event of a tie for first place there will be a hole by hole play-off on holes to be decided by the Tournament Director and published at the Championship. All players involved in the play-off other than the winner will be deemed to have tied for second place (unless the provisions of 1.(vi) apply)

(v)      There will be 4 qualifying spots into the AAM Scottish Open to be played at Dundonald Links, 13-16 July 2017. In case of a tie for the final qualifying spot there will be a hole-by-hole play-off on holes to be decided by the Tournament Director and published at the Championship. For alternate purposes all other ties will be decided by card play-off on the last 18, 9, 6, 3 & 1 holes, however any results in the play-off will supersede the card play-off.

(vi)     Play shall be in accordance with the Rules of Golf of R&A Rules Ltd, PGA Local Rules and Conditions of Competition and the additional Local Rules of Kilmarnock Barassie Golf Club, as approved by the Tournament Director.

(vii)    Any disciplinary action will be governed by the appropriate Regulations of the Association or Union of which that player is a Member.

It is a condition of entry that any player who qualifies for the AAM Scottish Open and subsequently does not play will be liable to repay any winnings from the Pre Qualifier to the PGA.

 

To be eligible for the Championship all competitors must satisfy at least one of the following eligibility criteria;

(i)     Currently employed at a golf establishment in Scotland.

(ii)    Scottish nationality by birth

(iii)   Have a Father or Mother that are of Scottish nationality by birth

           (iv)   Have a Grandparent of Scottish nationality by birth AND be currently deemed to be of Scottish nationality under PGA membership system.       

 

The following PGA Members and Assistants will be exempt into the Championship (Qualifier) in the following order, assuming they meet the eligibility criteria laid out in the "Eligibility for Entry" section.

(i)     The 2011-16 Scottish PGA Champions.

(ii)    The 2016 Scottish Young Professional Champion.

(iii)   Players who competed at the 2016 Titleist PGA Play-Offs.

(iv)   The leading 25 players on the 2016 PGA in Scotland Order of Merit, not already exempt (to a limit of 50th place).

(v)    The leading 5 players on each of the six 2016 PGA Regional Orders of Merit, other than PGA in Scotland, not already exempt (to a limit of 50th place).

(vi)   The leading 5 players from the 2016 PGA Assistants Championship, not already exempt (must have made the 36 hole cut)

(vii)  The leading 25 players from the 2017 Northern Open Championship, not already exempt (must have made the 36 hole cut)

(viii)  Members of the 2015 PGA Cup team.

(ix)   The leading 5 players from the 2016 PGA Professional Championship, not already exempt (must have made the 36 hole cut)

(x)    The leading 5 players from the 2017 PGA in Scotland Order of Merit following the Northern Open Championship, not already exempt.

(xi)   The leading 15 players (to a limit of 80th place) on the 2017 PGA Europro Tour Order of Merit at closing date.

 

The following non-PGA Members will be exempt, assuming they meet the eligibility criteria laid out in the " Eligibility for Entry" section.

(xii) 6 amateurs nominated by Scottish Golf Ltd.

           (xiii ) A maximum of 12 sponsors invitations

 

The balance of the field will be decided on the closing date and will comprise of those non-exempt PGA members and assistant professionals that enter, assuming they meet the eligibility criteria laid out in the " Eligibility for Entry" section and will be ranked in the following order;

(a) by ranking within the 2017 PGA in Scotland OOM, at close of entries,then

(b) date and time of entry

Any withdrawal after the closing date will be replaced by the next available reserve. The reserve list will be ranked as follows;

        (i) by ranking in the 2017 PGA in Scotland OOM on the closing date, then

        (ii) date and time of entry

Any player entering after the closing date will be placed at the bottom of the reserve list
